I already gave to double fine, I don't need to be giving to all of them.
The guy made Balder's Gate, Fallout 1 & 2, and Icewind Dale and it looking to make another game along those same RPG line.
You can bet your *** I'll be supporting this.
I'll jump on this.
I've never been involved with any sort of helping to pay for game development, but this may be a good time to start.
I played through the original Wasteland a couple of times on my C64. The best part was the battle taking the Citadel. Multiple floppy discs meant I could do that battle as much as I wanted. I would take it, save the game to another disc, recopy the game disc, then reload the battle. I was able to load my whole team with those spectacular laser (rifles/gatling guns - I don't remember which). Anyway, good times. I hope this turns out.
I remember using the LAW rocket in the Citadel as a favorite choice of mine :)
I really enjoyed just doing all the random encounters in the first major town, hanging out in the bar, stuff like that.
I'm supporting at the $50 level because this game is my greatest gaming memory I have as a kid. I was in 8th-9th grade when this came out playing it all the time. This game, Ultima IV, Bard's Tale, and Pool of Radiance were my equivalents to what my son plays on his 360 all the time. But, like you said many many disc swaps LOL. Battles would take forever to load...but oh were they worth it.
Never played Wasteland, but I did play everything else he named in his pitch to the kid in the video. I chipped in $15.
Maybe it was the LAW, but for some reason I'm thinking Gatling Laser. It's been a very, very long time ago; I believe 11th grade for me. I played Ultima, Bards Tale, and all the SSI AD&D games. Very good classic games. Kinda makes you wish they could update the graphics, keep the turn based gameplay, stories, rules, and items and re-release them.
It is cool to see this go from around $200k to almost $700k in less than 24 hours since I first saw this post. I hope to see their number blown out of the water.
They just reached their goal. I pledged $50.
Plus, I'm thinking about pledging these two boardgames...looks super fun.

(never even looked at the kickstarter website, and there are some really creative ideas/products being pitched)
This looks fun:

I ended up backing this one last night after playing the demo. Game is pretty awesome.

oh man..there's a Let's Play series for the original Wasteland. I have been listening to them while working. The guy reads aloud everything and it is just fantastic. So imaginative.
Anyway, so far I'm up to episode 10

Any way to play this on win 7 x64?

Nice quick interview with Fargo. "Hell no!" to day one DLC.
"..has served me well to assume the player is smart." in regards to not having a quest compass. :)
Yup... pledged to this and Double Fine...
