Is it become free or still need a key for download ?
Free to play on steam, or a starter pack for 19.99 with more goodies. Gonna give this a go today.
It's completely free to play. The only stuff you can spend money on are XP boosts and costumes. I dropped some cash on the game as soon as I realized I could make one of the characters look like Riddick and I think it was money well spent. ^_^

Be aware that the servers are getting absolutely destroyed right now, so matchmaking might be utterly broken for you if you try to play today.
Yea been waiting to try to get into a game, can't lol. Maybe i'll hold off until the superbowl starts and everyone migrates to there tv's...
Got to play this game at PAX a few months ago and it was pretty fun.
It's alright..
I remembered day's when they gave beta keys for game :)
Started playing today. It's actually quite fun and has real potential. Can't believe it is free.
It's way better than any of the full-priced retail shooters released in the past few years.
Interesting, looks quite good. I need something new to tear me away from my TF2 addiction.
It might just be me but I got this weird Giants: Citizen Kabuto vibe from watching the trailers....
Played a little last night. It's sad (though of course not unexpected) to go in and see all the stuff locked when the last time I played I had the full run of everything. Looks like I'll be using the basic beam and basic rifle weapons for a while until I build up some points and play around with dropped guns to see what I like.
A lot of practice is need to get better shooter.
You get enough Blutes to unlock stuff pretty quickly. After gaining one level I had enough to fill out one loadout slot exactly as I wanted.
Also, there's a really sweet Test Mode that lets you test out your weapons against dummies before you spend your Blutes. :D
I thought I was going to make a sniper rifle yesterday until I took it into test mode and it takes three shots to kill the targets if I don't hit the head. That was with the gun maxed out on damage. Seems a bit underpowered.
Wow ,loadout cards :)
finally got three different cards from loadout drop :)
Wasn't being sarcastic. Noticeably under 50% damage with a gun that is basically spec'ed to take away all speed in firing and reloading is borderline unusable IMO in a fast paced game like this without too many open areas. I've actually hit one of the test dummies square in the head with it and didn't kill them, which is how I found out you can blow somebody's head off and they still run around with just eyes attached to a brain. :D Some items that may add damage are still grayed out for me (like bolt action and fire bullets) so there is still some damage to be added to what I can possibly make right now.
By comparison, the game already seems to play a bit faster than TF2 to me, which would de-value sniper rifles in the first place, and then add on top of that that the sniper rifle seems to be weaker than the one in TF2. I obviously still have a lot of experience to gain in this game but I think a fully spec'ed sniper rifle in this would end up being more of a support style weapon where you help weaken/finish off enemies that are already engaged with your teammates than a weapon than lets you play like a shut-down corner at range on one part of the map like in most games I've played.
I had the same problem when I went with a semi auto trigger. The increased damage didn't seem to help since people killed me full auto before I could get enough shots off.
Looks like new game mode is live.

Is there any way to start game with a better gun ?
After only a round or two you should have enough blutes to do some pretty substantial modification. Only a handful of rounds in and I had enough to swap out every single part of the rifle to make the aforementioned sniper rifle (which I didn't actually buy)
You could always just pay real money for a jumpstart, of course.
I think that I need better mouse .One on one is impossible for me .
I had fun playing yesterday and today in the morning's EST. Played a few rounds, got a few MVP's, lost a few times. It's surprising how many people don't aim. And who think that aiming is "hacking". haha
Overall it's pretty fun.
