I've read several o/c articles and the IBM's seem to be the best at handeling higher PCI speeds.
I've got 2 maxtor drives (latest models) and they've worked just fine at higher speeds. I can't exactly remember what settings, but anyway, they work fine.

i see well i gots one 5400 fujitsu 20gigger & 2 2.5yr old 5400 quantum 3.2 & 6.4 giggers, they all handle high pci speeds just fine
altho who would of thought.. fujitsu hd's are like pretty much the cheapest hd's on the market and i bet one of the least reliable too.. but mine can handle 41 pci just fine.. weirdness
I like WD and IBm they run very nicely.

My vote would have to go for the IBM as well.

Hmmm double post.
seagate drives seem to handle high bus speeds quite nicely as well. that's based on my experience.

I have gone through 2 seagate drives and both failed because of high bus speeds, 115 FSB. Both seemed to fail during defragmenting.

None really almost all harddrive can have problem if you push the Pci past there happy zone of 33to 36 mhrtz. That why if your over clock'n a intel cpu the PIII e's (600,700,800) with there 100fbs are so popular, you can get to real boost in performance a 133fbs with out overclock'n your pci. Its very possible to reach 1 gig with out violent overclock'n your pci. Why, the PIIIE start with a higher mulitplier so you stay at the lower fbs and pci problems are much less of a issue. Go the other way around, get a good overclock cpu , you'll save your sanity in the end. https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/08/2.gifQuote:

I bet that an IBM would go to about 42.5, I have seen some that have gotten this far.Quote:

I have had luck with both WD expert and Maxtor Diamond Max plus at these speeds.Quote:

I found the WD to be faster overall but my next HD will be an IBM.
