Did you ever get my question about the zip-ties to hold the radiator? I was wondering how stable that'd be? Do you ever have any problems with heat expansion/compression when using plastic next to metal?

Hmmm....still wondering how that huge heatsink will help. What is it going to attach to? Is there a hole in the case behind that thing? Is it attached directly to the case?

Great articles, though. I have been looking in to modding my case *see this thread* and I'm waiting to see some of your ideas. I've got some of my own, but they are more artistic and will come when I can find some money. I want to take advantage of the fact that the Engineering (i'm a mechanical engr student) deptartment up here on campus has a machine shop. In one class we get to use the CnC machine to cut out aluminum designs. https://www.sharkyforums.com/images/.../2005/08/2.gif I've got a great idea for a window with a logo shadow. Yeah.

Never got question but here is answer.

Those zip ties have a rating of 400# each, expansion and contraction is minimual since the water will never waver more than a few degrees, removal is easy and so is installation, had to take it out three times so far 2second removal 2 min install instead of fighting nuts and bolts.
As far as the plastic is concerned the metel would have to get well over 250F to melt those things or cause some kind of faliure in the mounting system. Will probably fasten the radiator with a bracket system latter on but first I need to get the system up and running to make sure a fan on the bottom of the radiator is not necessary, rather make one type than two different.

If you remember in part one I told you how the psu mounting plate was removable and in part three the last pic you saw the inside of the heatsink. It is mounted directly to the case, I am trying not to give details away so someone does not steal my idea, but trust me the heatsink has a big role in cooling my computer. Without the size of that thing with the two 120mm fans I do not think my plan would work, it is a first.
Any way there is allot more to come before I even return to that big *** heatsink. still have lights, temp gages, paint, window cutouts, wiring harnesses, and a few other surprises, before I even get into cooling.
So hang tight it will pay off. The final product is worth the wait.
