Will a 150Watt power supply be enough for a Duron

I want this case: http://directron.com/babycase.html and it comes with only a 120 Watt power supply. If that would not be enough I have a 150watt power supply that I am sure would fit, it is very small. If neither of those would be enough for a duron, I know they wouldn't be enough for a T-Bird, then does anyone know where I could get a better power supply that would fit?

I think your going to need more power than that. Since AMD likes to have 300W with the T-bird and the Duron is based on the same core. That 150W is no where close to 300W many 250W won't handle a T-bird.

Even all my older computers had a 250W power supply.

I had a p3 running on a 150 watt ps, but remember it also depends on what else is in your case. PCI, AGP, and ISA cards draw a lot of power, and to a lower extent so do Cd-roms. I would suggest against using a 150, but you can always try it

I'd avoid getting less than 250W to decrease the likelyhood of future problems.

According to AMD a 900Mhz Duron uses at most 39.5W (@ 1.6V), subtract 2W for every 50MHz decrease. http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/duro.../pdf/23802.pdf

Jeez, that is the funniest case I've seen lately. The new Emachines cases give me a laugh too ^_^. Anyway, somewhere I've read that you can use a 150W, but I might be mistaken, I'm guessin AMD recomends at least a 250W for the Duron. Play it safe my friend.

Without a doubt, that case won't do much for the lifespan of and AMD cpu. These chips generate a lot of heat and I doubt that there is enough room in the case to allow for adequate heat disposal. YOU MUST HAVE A 300 WATT power supply minimum. No exceptions. I suggest that you fall in love with a more conventional case!

Frankly, I think that case would do good for LAN parties. But its too small so:

1. More heat
2. No space to work in
3. Requires MicroATX mobo (less slots)
4. Cube design looks strange
5. People will laugh at you!

But since you're not asking for case recommendations, I'd say a 230 - 250W would be enough for a duron. And the microATX board would only have a few slots, which won't require a lot of power.

Cute case, but if you read carefully you'll find that it is only 120w not 150w.
That will run a P-I 166, CD drive, floppy and an on board sound card. Oh,I forgot the S3 on board video chip. Or aleast it ran mine, 6 years ago.
