    Bad Ram?

    Hello all. i am running Maya 4.5 and hwenever i close the program i get this message


    Application Error
    The instruction at “0x611798c0” referenced memory at “0x00000014”. The memory could not be “read”


    i also got this message once in 3dsmax can anyone help me? i am running windows xp with SP1 and an Ati radeon 9500 Pro gfx card.

    You could always test the ram with memtest86, but I think that is a software problem where something is trying to write to reserved memory. I sometimes get the same error when winxp is closing down- I just ignore it.

    If you consistently get this error at the same time every time, I doubt your RAM is bad, especially if you are able to use Maya with no problems until you quit.

    I'm not sure what is causing the problem, though; I suppose it could be a problem DLL, conflict with another app using the same DLL, etc.
