    Multi Operating Systems

I just bought a TOSHIBA LAPTOP with 30gigs drive and I partitioned it to 3 drives. I'm planning to have the first partition (drive C) for my Windows XP and second for Windows 2000 and third Red Hat 9.0.

Does know if it's possible to do that?

So far, I got Windows XP and 2000 installed flawlessly but I couldn't get Red Hat 9 to install on the the 3rd partition.

    thanks for any help.

Can a PC run more than 30 operating systems? It sure can. Here's how

Have you ensured to make the first drive FAT32 and not NTFS?
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

The first and second partitions are FAT32. The 3rd is not formatted yet.

i thought you had to have more than one partition for linux, like a swap, and operation system, and if you want /home /(whatever) i sujest doing that.but redhat does it for you i belive not sure when i use linux is slackware.

You don't have to have more than one parition to use Linux. You don't have to have a swap partition and you can put everything else onto a single / (root) partition. Not having swap simply means that when Linux runs out of physical memory it runs out of memory.

My Linux installation never touches the swap drive, so I could reclaim it, however I suspect that my PC has more memory than Proadsy2k's laptop. If you want to run X-Windows under Linux then anything less than 256MB is going to be a bit tricky.
