    processor running too slow

I just bought a A7N8X-Deluxe and a Barton 2500+. When the system boots up, it says it is only running at 1100mhz. And when I go into the bios, the multiplier is only 11.0. How do I make it so that the processor runs at the speed it is supposed to. My bios version is 1005. (Asus website says versions 1002 and above support my chip)

Fibus, the Front side bus is set at 100 instead of 166. Go to advanced Chipset, then click on FSB and page up till you have 166. Then hit the F-10 key to save reboot and all done!

Before you do that, make sure there isn't a jumper that must be set on the motherboard. Usually it's either set at 100 or 166, so make sure yours is set at 166.

Simply upping the fsb to 166 will overclock your chip, since it thinks 100 is default.

Actually, it doesn't matter where the jumper is set. Either way you can manually change the FSB in bios to whatever you want. You want 166 as said before.
