I think they were dropped because they used DX9 to run the work units. Now Stanford wants to use AMD's CTM and nVidia's CUDA as they're a good bit more efficient. I think that they X1900 series (GPU1) client was really just a test. I just wish that they'd told people that when they started it. Quite a few got burned by it and aren't exactly wanting to rush out and buy nVidia cards for their farms because of that.

Haiy guyssss, want me to add about 15,000ppd to Sharky Forums? I'm thinking about leaving the [H]orde after I give them a million points. It's between joining here and XS.

Congrats, Elok, on becoming the 4th member of Sharky's Folding Team with 1,000,000 points.
I hope to join you as the 5th member relatively soon.

Thanks, Elok. Due to unforseen circumstances it took longer than expected. I'm still not back up to full production and probably won't be for another month or two, but when I do my production should be higher than ever.

There seems to be a lot of people slowly dieing out on the folding team...what happened to everyone?

Would be great if you started folding again, lonewolfroger.
Congratulations to elok on reaching 2,000,000 and to Muk108 for reaching 1,000,000. Oh, and a very belated congratulations to Anomie for reaching 1,000,000 points as well.
Mikead_99 is running away with things here. I'm looking forward to seeing him hit 10 million.
Well, I finally got back up to full production a month or so ago, but it was short lived as now my 8800GTS gets an immediate EUE. That card was basically half of my production. The card is still functioning fine in 2D and since I haven't been playing games on the PC lately I haven't tested to see if there are any problems in 3D. It's an eVGA though, so hopefully I'll be able to get it replaced if it truly is dieing.

I'm just folding on a Q6600/GTX 275 now. I used to use two Linux virtual machines for the Q6600, but now that I have to use a WiFi card instead of a good ol' ethernet connection I can't get the VMs to communicate. I think I"m going to buy a cheap router, load Tomato, and turn it into a four-port bridge so I can go back to using wired connections to reach the router downstairs. That'll double my CPU production.
My GTX 275 can put out some really serious points when it gets the right WUs, it just seems that I get a lot of those aweful 511 point jobs that take it down to only ~6000ppd instead of the 8000 (the 1888p WUs) to 10,000 (the 359 pointers) that it can get.
I also need to get the double 8800GT box going, that would add about 6-7000 more points per day depending on the work units. After that I'll pick up a pair of GTX 260s (the 216, 55nm shader models) and run them in another box. At least this is giving my old S939 gear a new lease on life, even if they're not actually making any points, my old Opterons (165 and 170) are feeding the GPUs. Having the extra two GPU boxes, and by the end of the year a new dedicated Linux box running the SMP client (the Linux box in my sig is long gone, need to delete that) with a Core i7 860. With a good overclock that could be another 8000ppd.
I fold for [H]ard|OCP, they need all the help they can get because EVGA is basically bribing people to fold (offering money off EVGA products). I thought about joining the EVGA team for that reason, but that's the wrong reason to run FAH. I'm hoping that by March 2010 I can be up to over 30,000 points per day.

Nice, yeah I finally got 2 GTX 285s running full throutle for the time being. We really need to do some serious recruiting on the boards here like what happened right in the early days of folding. No one seems to be doing it anymore.

Well, I've been running F@H for a couple of years now, but the program has developed a problem. The eternal message it produces is "attempting to get work packet". I don't know if it's a problem with my end or at a server somewhere. Anyone else experience this?
