    Can anyone tell me what this code means?

    TRAP 00000002===============EXCEPTION============================

    tr=0028 cr0=80000011 cr2=00000000 cr3=00039000

    cs:eip=0008:0041B7F6 ss:esp=0010:0005FAC8 errorcode=0000
    flags=00000097 Cy NoZr IntDis Down TrapDis

    eax=8069C762 ebx=8069C75C ecx=804F61A9 edx=00000003 ds=0010 es=0010
    edi=FFFFFFFF esi=800D4000 ebp=0005FADC cr0=80000011 fs=0030 gs=0000

    4 out of every 5 times I try and boot into windows XP home I get a black screen with that on it. The only way to get into windows is to turn off power completely and reboot after waiting a minute. I usually have to do that about 4 or 5 times before I make it into windows XP. Since there seem to be some brilliant programmers here I was wondering, can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it?

    Sounds like a bad install to be, or something is corrupting your install. I'm going to move this over to OS and hopefully they'll have some info to really help you out. Good Luck!

    Your registry is damaged. Are you overclocking?

    Here is a KB article.

    But how can that be? I am OC'ing. I forgot to back off on install maybe. Now that my rig is basically at stock, with exception of gfx card at a low OC the error has not occured nearly as much. I guess I may try another reformat and fresh install but tit'll be my 4th one

    Wait you installed XP without putting everything at stock speeds? I think your problem might lie there...

    I didn't knew it mattered. I always install windows with my hardware OC, except my new computer I got some weeks ago. I don't do extreme OC just some little Mhz
