"To stir the pot, I found that "enhancer" to be nothing more than a volume/frequency booster. You can get the same results but boosting the treble and bass levels in windows...imho."
I concur with soupnazi. This plugin does nothing but boost a set of frequencies, lets call it the B0$E effect. Newbies will often fall for its false sound.
As for you natgun, stop being so ignorant. If your ears cant tell the difference, fine - dont be a baby and claim there is no difference. It may be very slight or non-existant in some cases, but I guarantee you its probably your settings or the way you have it setup. Go look in the soundcard section in the 3dss.com forum if you need to read the dozens of people that all agree there is a difference in quality albeit slight...

Wow, I use the same one!
It's either that one or I use the bass and treble setting

Glad I could help you guys, it's a Digital Signal Processor and I think it does an adequate job. I prefer the Normal (Ambience) preset myself. Did you guys notice how it controls the volume so your songs stay in a certain decibal range? Pretty cool I think.

I was wondering what that was doing. It was ticking me off. j/k

Anyone use MediaSource? I'm at work right no, but earlier today I found that it played songs better than Winanmp 2.95 with the MAD plugin installed (and running at 24bit).
(I was using MediaSource 2 to be exact)

All sound is subjective, it differs from person to person. If it sounds good to you go with it.

Yes, but an objective look can be formed from common opinions on 'good sounds.'
If you think about it, who wants a harsh and distorted sound? No one.
I find that Winamp distorts in this manner, while foobar is much clearer and cleaner sounding. The problem with foobar is that it seems to be a bit harsh at times and almost makes the overall sound seem choppy.
On the other hand, I find CoolPlayer being my current favorite, as it's very articulate yet quite smooth and musical.
This is subjective about CoolPlayer, but that's my personal findings.
I used winamp 2.90 with the MAD plugin for my comparison, as well.
