Hello temperature qn :)
Hi everyone, just stopped lurking to make my first newb post.
Is 50+ degrees C ok for processor temp? I just got a new sonata case and it runs fine, just the temperature is a bit high. Will this spoil my processor or anything?
Thanks in advance!
ps I didn't change the cooler on the processor w an aero7+ or anything cos I'm trying to keep it quiet

Welcome to sharky forums
What cpu do you have and is that load or idle temp.

Oops, amd2600+, msik7n2, 2x512DDR333(?), radeon9600pro, HDD-80GB+30GB, antec sonata.
50+ C is the 'load' temp.
Thanks for the welcome ZhaoYun :P You're a big fan of RomanceOTTK?

That is not too bad of a temp for your 2600+, with a retail HSF, not high enough to worry about.

You're fine as long as your temps stay below 55C under full load, or when using a cpu intensive app/game. Btw, ROTTK rocks.

Thanks for the quick reps! feel better now, cos all my friends have temps that are near to half of mine. And yes, you're right ZhaoYun :P
