    Recommend the best Epox board

Hi I have an epox 8KHA+ currently and want to upgrade with another epox board mostly cuz i don't feel like reformatting my hd w/ another boards bios. So which epox board do you recommend? I have a 1700xp and i'm gonna buy 3200ddr.

Well, I would recommand you format anyway, but you might get by without doing it with a KT400 or KT600 or you might not. If you want a Nforce 2 MB, you will have to reformat because you are going from a Via chipset to the Nvidia chipset.

yeah, there's a lot more involved than just the BIOS when you swap motherboards, especially when going from one chipset to another. your system needs to properly detect and install drivers for all of the onboard components of the motherboard. the BIOS has relatively little to do with it comparatively.

Going from a KT266A to an nForce2 (which is what you'll want), you'll want to do a reinstall anyways.

Don't even waste your time trying to avoid a reformat.

I would look at getting the 8RDA+ depending on how long you can wait to buy it again. Seems like a lot of people have people have been satisfied with the 8RDA3+ too.

You might also want to consider the Abit NF7-S if your budget allows.

IMO, I don`t think there will be another release of the 8RDA+, it has been unavailable for way too long.

Is the only difference between the RDA+ and 3G that the 3G has dual LAN?

    When did this happen?

8RDA+ was re-released in UK, and if they're still available they're all Revision 2.1

ahh i have to 8kha+ too, thats a great board. as far as getting a new board and not having to reformat, just make sure you uninstall the via 4in1 drivers before you install the new board.

A little while back. Here's a review 232FSB is not bad especially for a reviewer who didn't push the mobo to its limits. Its a decent NF7-S 2.0 competitor and slightly cheaper

Hmmm, they got rid of that extra PCI slot too and BS my foot too, he had stock cooling on the NB and SB.I'm surprised he even got to 232FSB with the added vdd. He only had 2.8v on the RAM too and if the 3G is anything like the RDA+ voltage wise, it was less than 2.8v vdimm.

I think that score of 85 is low.

So does mine. You do mean that the Firewire ports add-ons via those gray cables, right?
