BF 1.5 is out

I think they released it now becuase there was about to be a new dc release, .5. So this will likely push back the dc release.

CLIENT FIXES
-No more swapping CD's. Any installed Battlefield 1942 expansion pack
or community mod can be played using any Battlefield CD.
-Fixed an issue that would cause severe lag when going from a vehicle ladder
directly into a vehicle position. This was especially prevalent with the
MG positions on Destroyers.
-Fixed Omaha Beach ammobox-bunker exploit.

NEW FEATURES
-New map - Invasion of the Philippines, complete with all new Patrol Boats.
-A new US Marines skin replaces the USA army skin in the Pacific theatre.
-US Marines Engineer is equipped with the M1 Garand.
-Japanese Engineer has been retrofitted with the Type 5 semi-automatic
rifle.
-Kubelwagen replaced with the Black Medal Scout Car for the Japanese forces.
-Hanomag replaced with the Ho Ha APC for the Japanese forces.

So does this mean that if I install 1.5 patch, I can't play DC 0.4J?

I actually reinstalled the game and the new map is pretty sweet...played it for 2 hours last night...it got all the way down to 1 for both sides but we lost it...and I wouldn't see why 1.5 would kill dc .4j...I only found 14 servers that are running 1.5 and they are all ea servers so I couldn't tell you if 1.5 kills dc...

I haven't tried it yet, but the people on the DC forums say it's working ok so far.

I played it last night too,the phillipines map was runnning extremely smooth?they must have fixed something in the performance of the game.

Desert Combat works, however I'm experiencing something strange. When I load BF1942 program I have to wait a good minute of staring at a black screen before it loads into the game.

That's good to hear... So I get to play best of both worlds!

And what do you mean by blank screen for a minute??
I get it for about 10 seconds or less usually...

Dunno what the problem is, just got done chatting with an EA rep and he didn't know what it was either. He couldn't reproduce it and no one else seems to be having that problem. Reformat here I come!

Do you reformat often? I hate doing it because not only do I have to re-install Windows, I have to patch it up, re-install ALL my software!!!!! Yuck! I only do it when it's utterly necesary.

that happened to me with quake 3 too...I defragged a few times and it went away though...

No, I don't reformat often. It's been a good while since I did it last and I'm begining to notice the inevitable windows buildup. That and I'm not entirely happy with my Cat 3.8 install. Yeah, your right about it being a pain in the butt. But I just got DSL, and I want my computer in top shape so I'm willing to download all the updates again. THe hardest part is finding all my install CDs, and I almost always lose something in the process.

Yeah, same here...
I always misplace a CD somewhere... or forget to install another software... blah blah blah... and on top of that, I have to pay attention to Korean language support for my wife. Anyway, it's big mess each time I do that...

But after finding out here about streamlining SP1 into my Win XP CD, I now have Win XP SP1a CD. 8) I haven't had to use it yet...

but if I need to, it will save me a bit of a step... Have you done this?
