the thing is the phone is probably ruined now, chances are it was powered ON when he dropped it in the toilet, the power going through the board probably shorted/blew something out with the water since its conductive... unless he had a SIM card in his phone it wasnt worth sticking his hand down a toilet...and how did it go down the pipe? he must have flished it then realized the "plonk" he heard when he got up wasnt a "hangy" it was his phone LMAO

    Arrow

I would try too. I've removed an entire display counter at a variety store to grab a dime before. I grabbed it. I grabbed the dirty dime off the dirty floor. It made a scraping sound that dime did.

This reminds me of a friend of mine who dropped his phone accidently in a sewer (sp?). Hehe, interesting story though.

I have trouble believeing this. I lost my cell phone a couple weeks ago for about 2 days at a park, where it rained for both of them. I went to find my phone 2 days after losing it, at the park and it still worked, albeit a bit of condensation under the LCD screens. It was and is fully functional. It has since dried and is fine.

It was on the whole time. I found it ice cold, soaked and still with 1 bar of battery left.

I believe it's an i70 motorola. I'm not exactly certain though, as I'm certainly not a cell-phone guru. As long as I get clear calls and can text message, I'm content.

may also be that it was water tight, but the temperature of the air caused condensation due to moisture in the air...cause air can get into places water cant... not sure but just a guess, but submerging a cell phone while turned on should surely fry it...
