Would this help me get more 3dmarks?

If i were to create a seperate user account just for benching, disable all un-needed programs, and had a generic background/theme?

Well, generally people just do that before they run 3DMark, at least that's what I do, lol.

But it would help a little bit.

Sure, use an account without all the services and a black background.

That reminds me, I should probably get rid of my background, somewhere in the MB range I think it is...and I don't have that much video RAM anymore...

Why not just get another hard drive and just put the basic items on it you need to 3D Mark with and connect to the internet.

I personally Do all my little tweaks to XP and run it that way 24/7. What I do to get my services down to a min when I bench is use a registry patch. All you do is apply the super tweak patch, reboot and it will kill almost every service. Once I am finished benching, apply the default patch, reboot and all services go back to normal. It's quick, easy and I can be sure my service were effectively killed. One thing to remember if you're going to do this. Make sure you save the 3dmark score to submit later. The supertweak will kill your internet connection. Here are the patches

EDIT: I took the links out to the files because of problems. If you want to try this just use the link below and find Default and superstart and download them directly from the site. This stuff really works. I am not quite sure what has happened to his rig.

Good question...I'd like to know too. I love the autmomated things like this and Rage3DTweak...makes me bench ten times as much as if I had to do it manually.

*EDIT-Forgot I had this link in my favorites-its for Windows 2K*

Can you boot into safe mode and run msconfig and get these services going again.

tried that... that patch disables services that you can't re-enable.

You can`t uninstall the patch, and how about doing a repair would that work.
