Avoid it! It's basically a crippled 9800, should perform like a 9600Pro. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. Go for the 9800NP - Non-Pro, usually it's stated on the box as ATI Radeon 9800, no suffixes like Pro Lite, SE (Sucky Edition, Sucker's Edition, Slow Edition, well, you get the idea )

I suggest hitting up your local bestbuy for the 9600se boxes. $130 and you get a coupon for free HL2 when it's released (50 dollar value, paying 80 for card pretty much). Look at the serial numbers of the cards... 180336X and 180339X are the pro serials meaning the card is a 9600pro. Pretty good deal if i had the extra 130 laying around id pick one up.

The 9600se anly has a 64bit memory interface and is clocked at 325/200, so IMO, this video card is worse then a 9600np. Edit to add the 9600pro EZ by powercolor is better then it, at lease it has a 128bit memory interface.

I understand this, and no offense but if you read past the first sentence you wouldnt of posted what you did. There are 9600pros inside 9600se boxes, you just have to make sure the serial# is the one of the right 2 which are the pros.

If you ever see "SE" on a video card, it usually means "slow edition".

I just checked out the clock speeds of the 9800SE the one without the 256Bit memory interface(it looks like you can`t get these anywhere no more but ebay) and it is clocked at 324/570, which is lesser then the 9600pro at 400/600.

If they are the same price, I'd say get the 9600XT over the 5700Ultra.
