i'll have to put some more up later. with my new monitor i can't yet tell if i made the images too dark in photoshop or if it's my monitor that is still a bit dark. not easy finding a free calibration app and i cant find where Adobe Gamma is located in CS3

Hope you're enjoying Scotland, I lived down in Edinburgh for eight years and back up in Inverness where I was born and bred. A couple of recent ones from when the sun was actually shining unlike the miserable weather it's been this week so far:

Scotland is a beautiful place. For ~4 years I was an outside IT director for a company in Cumbernauld. Too bad I didn't play golf at the time.

I came over last July, just in time for the rainiest month the UK has had in 200 years. My luggage finally dried about two weeks ago.

To be honest that's not saying much, it's raining most of the time anyway Weather was particularly poor last year though, shot a wedding just south of Loch Ness and sure enough it was pouring for the afternoon. Exactly a week later it was one of the best days of the year...argh!

The bridge you can see in the next shot is where the above picture was taken, this loch rather coincidentally matches the shape of Scotland rather well:

Thanks Dyne, I'm finding the ultrawide view works well with forests a it gives them a dramatic look without some of the distortion issues you get with buildings.

http://www.jpages.net/images/pics/slideshow.htm?6 There's my trip. You can see we were soaked, even though I took most of the shots during a brief break in the torrent.

I jest but I can appreciate it's irritating at times, I met with a young lady from Chicago last week at the pub and took her out to see Skye which sadly is almost always covered by clouds. Started off well with bright blue skies but as we neared Skye the clouds appeared, remained dry but wasn't quite the same. For the wedding I mentioned above, the couple's parents came to Scotland for the first time and stayed the week but Scotland lived up to its reputation and was dark and wet the whole week - this is a picture taken from the same spot:

The bright sunny pictures were taken just a day after the relations went back home...at least I took a waterproof SLR, I'd decided against it the night before but changed my mind in the morning.

He shoulda yelled "Caaaaaaaallllllllliiiiiiiiifffffffffoooooorrrrrrrrrnnnnnnii iiiiiaaaaaa!"
Yes John there were blue skies, but just before those shots were taken we were literally soaked to the skin. Little place where they sell food and drinks was so replete with humans trying to avoid the rain that I couldn't get in, so I just sat outside on a bench, in the rain. I also got a nice misty shot of the Devil's beeftub on the way up.
