Droid X or Galaxy S?
Hey guys...
So after over 2 years with my crappy HTC Touch, my wife is finally letting me upgrade! (single people need not comment)
I was just looking at Droid X but then started hearing about Samsung's Galaxy S... which would YOU pick?
However, it may not be that simple and I may just be stuck with Droid X as I don't see anything resembling that on Verizon Wireless...

To me the Galaxy S looks better if you ask me. Especially since it's actually coming to ATT.

Galaxy S, or some version of the same, will be available from all the major providers. Just waiting to upgrade from the Samsung Moment ...

Does anyone know when Galaxy S will be released on Verizon? I think I saw this summer... but would prefer more definite timeline... I am itching to ditch this HTC Touch as it keeps crapping out on me!! Even July 15 (for Droid X) seems too far away!

I'd vote for the Droid X, simply because it seems like they have done a lot of stuff right on that phone.

I'm leaning towards Droid X more only because it feels like Galaxy S will be out much later (like winter) whereas I need the replacement within a month
-
I'll probably buy a Galaxy S international version within the next month or so on the open market for ~$600.
There will be 4 other versions of the handset tailored and locked for each of the major USA providers.
I have heard that AT&T will offer it by mid-August.
AFAIK the Galaxy S handset will be offered in 110 countries.

Galaxy S is coming to Sprint end of July... I wish Verizon would hurry up and make the announcement!! I gotta get me one soon!! It's killing me! Rather, the frustration from my HTC Touch's inability thanks to WM6.1!

I was down to the Droid Incredible and the Droid X. I'm definitely leaning towards the Droid X. I had originally wanted an iPhone 4, but ATT doesn't have good 3G coverage where I live (not surprising) and I like the more open nature of the Android platform. Not to mention that there was no iPhone 4 with more than 32GB of capacity, the screens have problems, the antennae have problems, ect.
That and the Android platform has this really sweet Swype typing enhancement. Considering Apple, you won't be able to get it until the iPhone 5. The guy who did the T9 predictive text system designed it and everyone seems to love it. I was hesitating to buy a touch screen phone w/o physical keyboard until I heard about it.

Well, I pulled the trigger on Droid X today! It became available as of midnight tonight!! LOL... So 10 minutes into the day, I got it...
Waiting for hours in line is for losers! :P

I'm thinking about one, but I'm definitely going to have to use one before I buy it. It's a huge phone, my hands aren't particularly big, it may be uncomfortable to use everyday.

iPhone coming to Verizon doesn't make me giddy at all...
I was hoping to see if I can get Galaxy S on Verizon (Samsung Fascinate) but unsure when that would be so I am getting Droid X. That alone will be a humongous upgrade for me anyway...

I love my Droid - by FARRRR the best phone I've ever had. So between the two it's the Droid X. However, I'm really waiting for the Droid 2, which will drop next month. I hate not having a keyboard. The X has no keyboard where the Droid 2 will.
What I want is the Droid - but faster.
