Angry Home network goes for weakness

cisco linksys wr54gt G with 3 computers. Acer laptop lists available channels(about 6) and I pick the strongest channel and everything seems fine. About 5 minutes later I find my computer moving at a snails pace and low and behold the channel has mysteriously switched itself from the strongest to the weakest and slowest. Other than this the network works fine.

Can anyone help me here. Thanks in advance.

So it sounds like you are saying your laptop has channels to choose from, and you select the one you want, but then it changes. Are you sure that you have selected the same channel in your router configuration?

Cool Home network goes for weakness

Sorry, I screwed up on the computer lingo again. I meant to say that the cisco router jumps from the strongest network which is mine and goes to another network that belongs to one of my neighbors. I believe there are about 6 other networks that the router picks up. Several are protected. It happens constantly. I would like to know if I can delete this other network(s) from my router so I don't have this problem. Both networks are unprotected. Thanks in advance.
