59.99 for a 1tb 32mb cache drive at Microcenter. A good deal or a bad drive?

I've had nothing but issues from Hitatchi drives. So I avoid now. Caveat Emptor!

Funny, Hitachi is currently the most reliable hard drive maker with WD.

Yeah, way back in early 2000's Hitachi took over IBM's hard drive division. Even though the hdd's have probably improved, I won't buy one since I had an IBM Deathstar die on me.

No more sh*tgates for me... The 1.5GB crapola drives left a bad taste...

    WD only for me..

Plus I sold a few hundred of those Deathstars in the 2000 - 2004. Not a single failure. So I found them to be more reliable then any drives on the market then.

Seagate has gone to crap since the Maxtor acquisition. I wonder if some of Maxtor's shittiness rubbed off on them.
