I've had nothing but issues from Hitatchi drives. So I avoid now. Caveat Emptor!

Yeah, way back in early 2000's Hitachi took over IBM's hard drive division. Even though the hdd's have probably improved, I won't buy one since I had an IBM Deathstar die on me.

WD only for me..
Plus I sold a few hundred of those Deathstars in the 2000 - 2004. Not a single failure. So I found them to be more reliable then any drives on the market then.
