Are you planning on replacing the 260? I would go with the FX board with 2 pci-e 16 slots. It's more expensive but if you get an ATI card you can crossfire it.

not too much into crossfire or SLI....260 still good enough to start with for the beginning of this build a newer card would come later

As long as you stick with one card it probably doesn't make much difference. Just on thing to keep in mind. Say you upgrade your video card to a 5850. They are running about 250-300. That card will keep you gaming for a long time. By the time it starts to slow down you will probably be able to pick another one up for less that 100. That makes a really inexpensive upgrade path. You can't do that if you stick with a Nvidia card.

If you get the new AM3 board then you will need DDR3. I would go with DDR3 1333 or 1600. The price has started to come down. You can stick with the 260 and upgrade that later if you want.

my current board will run the 940...I would not have to get a board unless I do a total up grade. thinking I would wait for bulldoZer/sandybridge to see how prices come down on a I7 build?
