hp i5 temperture
hello, i just got me new dv6-3125ej with mobile i5 460 cpu.
i noticed right away that the fan is really loud.
i installed temperture monitor, and noticed that the idle temperture is around
60c and when full load it reaches over 100c, it gets up to 105c and then i see downclocking to 1500mhz from 2500mhz, when it cools down to 80c, the clock rises up to 2500 again and the temperture rises with it.
is it normal???

Ugh. Sounds nasty.
I would call HP, and see what they have to say about it. Temps that high can easily cause burns. There is no reason that a machine that functions normally would have temps that high.

That temp is too high, the i5 in my laptop idles <40C. Sounds like heatsink came off.
Send it in for repairs

thanks for the info, i would open it myself, and put some nice AS5 on it, but i guess the warranty would expire

I agree with this approach.
You have a warranty, might as well use it. No point in risking screwing something up.

hmmm.... i guess it did came off, the temp reads say 95c, but the fan blows cold air out.

well, sent it to hp, and just got it back, they replaced my cooling with new one, now it works 25c idle, and 50c load, perfect!
