    Sites issues...

    Is it me or is this site having major issues. I keep getting database errors...

    Database error
    The database has encountered a problem.
    Please try the following:

    Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
    Open the www.sharkyforums.com home page, then try to open another page.
    Click the Back button to try another link.

    The www.sharkyforums.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

    It's the site. The IT people have been working on it for a while.

    Btw, just out of interest, is there a rough ETA yet on the search/indexes issue?

    The IT people have til Monday to upgrade a few more sites and move them from the east coast to the west cost. The data center on the east coast is shutting down. Once that is complete they will be working on fixing the other issues.

    Why are they killing the East Coast DC? Will it just be one DC for the entire ITBE thing?

    Rumor has it that the East Coast will be underwater some day due to global warming

    All I know is that they've been planning the big upgrade for months... New servers/new back end software - and the vBulletin upgrade. Maybe they got a better price on the machines with the new DC.. Or maybe it was simply that the East coast DC was shutting down that prompted a lot of this.
