    What's the difference?

    Aside from the obvious price increase,what is the difference between Nvidia Quadro and GTX series?
    AMD FX-8350 @ 4GHZ
    MSI 990FXA-GD65 BIOS V 19.9
    EVGA GTX 760 SC
    Acer 24" G-7 G247HL @ 1920 x 1080
    MUSHKIN Redline Ridgeback DDR3 rated @ 2133mhz # 996997

    The Quadro has extensive instruction sets for OpenGL in firmware. It's intended for CAD use and saves the need to do lookups for SPLines and other geometry that Catia, ProE, Solidworks, Unigraphics, and other PLM CAD use. This offers no advantage to gamers, but greatly enhances the render speed for drawing.

    The Hardware is the same ...

    The software/drivers are different ....

    I dont know if you can hack a GTX into a Quadro though. (seems possible)

    and yea , the Price they ask for the Quadro is not justified .. it is the same hardware.

    Yeah, not correct. The hardware is significantly different. Both Quadro and AMD's FirePro series have OpenGL extensions in firmware. The CORE may be similar or the same, but the card itself is very different.

    I thought firmwares are flash-able right ?
