Figured I'd post stuff about starbound here. New patch is up. I also just realized you can use coal and trees to fuel your ship.

The tooltip for coal even says that it is fuel!

I used it all for torches. Wood is also no longer a fuel source. Tried setting up a server but couldn't get it working

Thread Killer
I think you can put the wood into a furnace to create coal. The conversion rate is pretty bad though so you will need to chop down a lot of wood.

I don't roll on Shabbos!
I played a few hours of Starbound. I really like the potential for the game, but I can't stay too interested without some kind of structure. The "endless digger" genre was fun, but some sort of narrative or questing is needed for me to stay interested. I made it to the beta planets, but they don't seem much harder than the alpha planets. I also found a pirate ship floating above one planet. There were a bunch of npcs up there. One had a ton of items for sale.

I might be interested if it is on sale as part of the Steam sale. Listening to the Cagcast from this week, it sounds like it has a lot of potential.

Current game is crazy slow but once you get to Beat sector the game starts to pick up. That said, I think its best to play this on a server with others.
