Internet options - how do you get rid of Yahoo default

I recently downloaded something that forces yahoo as the default site that pops up when I open my browser. This is annoying.
Each time I goto internet options & change my "homesite" as default, it goes back to yahoo when I reopen my browser. How can I fix this? I uninstalled anything related to Yahoo and the recently downloaded software, except for msgr which I've had for over a year now & thought this would fix the problem.

It's funny, this came from an Advanced System Care 7 download. I ran a version 6, I believe, & was told that there's a new version & I downloaded it. I figured out it was the surfing protection that was causing this & deleted this from my computere

This was freeware. I should have looked at my settings as I was installing it.
