Not much has changed really. I'm waiting for the next update which looks to be fairly large.

Not dead, just less posting. I check this forum section almost daily still. I just don't post nearly that often.

I do hang out on the Reaper miniature forums in a much more active way. The other forums that I have interacted with over the years are dying off slowly.

I've also been around here since 16. At 13 years now on this forum, this is definitely the oldest active login I have.

It's sad to see message boards die as "the conversation" has moved to reddit and Facebook. The effort to make the Internet mainstream has really diluted conversation in general, which I guess is to be expected. I mean, 13 years ago when I came here the Internet was still a geek thing. There was no Facebook, no reddit, no YouTube. Google was just starting to become "a thing" that people were aware of.

The "future" of the Internet looks a lot more like the past than any kind of future I would have imagined in 2001. Everything has fallen behind a walled garden of one sort or another. I'm not even sure domain names will make sense 10 year from now. We are going to go through a period of consolidation after this bubble pops, and everything is going to be isolated into an "app" or whatever we decide it call it in 10 years—ecosystem, maybe, who knows. In a lot of ways "the Internet" has become a geek thing once again.

I'm not even sure normal people will use "browsers" in 10 years. Hopefully this place is till around though.

We should have a backup plan in case this place does shut down.

The post on GameFAQs but that is a cesspool for the most part. I also post at the Overclock.net forums, that place doesn't seem too bad but I'm not there much either.

    Here we go...Steam community group

    Created "The Shark Pool"

We already have a few Sharky related steam groups, but I figure we can use this specifically for Sharky members. There is a discussions tab we can use for posting and what not. Let me know if you are interested.
