    Disappointing Steam Sale

Is it just me or does the whole Steam sale going on right now feel lackluster and disappointing? I hate the new layout and the "deals" are pretty bleh.

I got a couple deals I was hoping for, so I have no issue with it.

I believe it was just the "Fall" sale. The true Holiday sale is yet to come, presumably with all the lightning deals and such we've grown accustomed to.

I picked up a few indies (Battleblock Theater, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and The Long Dark) from Steam proper, but the bigger purchases (Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Evil Within) were Steamworks games from GreenManGaming, which actually had better sale prices on them.

I have this new "code" of mine when it comes to sales. If I have to talk myself into buying a game, I just don't buy it. I felt really sad when I saw Transistor and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter on sale and didn't buy them because of hesitation that I had. Though, I am down to only 2 games in my backlog since I made that decision. I'm sure I'll pick up more games once I truly have none left to play.

I didn't even bother this time around, I picked up the new EQ2 expansion and I'm pretty sure that will keep me busy until the Christmas sale comes around.

I picked up the Bioshock Infinite season pass, and I think I paid more than I did for the base game. But it is fun, so $10 well spent.

Nothing else has caught my attention, as of yet.

GOG has another sale going on right now with a lot of good stuff, but I haven't seemed to get much interest before when posting GOG deals on this site. If anybody hasn't been there in a while know that they have a ton of newer games (indies, mostly) in addition to the classics they got their start with.

Is that as good as it looks? That one slipped under my radar.

I say wait until it gets out of Alpha. I tried it and I think it needs more polish.

Only thing I can say about the new layout is I love how easy it is to tell if you already own a game (or part of a game in the case of a GOTY edition, etc.)

I want that DD:OS!! I just hope it falls below $20 mark this time!
Ever since Steam came online, I had to learn to limit myself and never (well,, mostly) pay full price.
