    SSD external dock USB 3.1 or

    I'm looking to buy a new external dock for a few SSD drives that i have to backup data should i buy a USB 3.1 gen 2 dock or go with thunderbolt 3? My mother board has both inputs it even has e-sata

    Get the USB 3.1 gen 2 dock. I have one and it has not failed me yet. Also saw lots of good reviews about it.

    Get the best device that supports your motherboard and in your case; obviously, you should get USB 3.1. Thunderbolt 3 is not exactly suitable to transfer data from drive to drive. USB is better in that job.
