Are the antec sx830 and sx1030 the exact same dimensions?

They are the same external dimensions. Main differences are that the 1030 holds more drives and has a front-face cover.

Hmm the guy at Fry's told me the older model (1030?) isn't P4 ready, etc.

The one I just bought today is the sx830. Which I was told is 2.3 something. Gosh I always forget what it stands for.

Yes it is ..... they just have the new PS in them that says if they are p4 ready or not. And it doenst matter if the case doesn't have hole for the P4 HSF ... jus drill some in ... not really hard! But the SX830 is great ..... so so sweet!

Nice choice soldier, i would say that the sx series from antec are the best steel cases you can get.
