Dungeon Siege - Favorite Character Builds

WHat skill combinations do people use for their Dungeon Siege characters? I've decided to solo the entire game so I need a versatile character. Still, I have foregone magic altogether and concentrated on melee and ranged attacks. I am now at 12/9/1/0 and it seems to be working very well. I usually stand my ground and engage approaching enemies with my bow. If any get through to me, I butcher them hand to hand. What do YOU do? WHat is your favortie spell/weapon/skill , etc.?

Well I paired 4 npc's with my mage so it worked out. Melee seems to level the fastest. Archers are good but not too great. Combat mages are great at high levels. The spells really kick *** although the armor as you can guess sucks.

Nature mages are not bad either but they're better healers and summoners than attack mages. They don't really take a backseat though but still they're not combat mages.

As for Melee.. they just rock but you need tons of heal potions.

I like combat/ nature mage personally, I finished the single player a while ago and I imported my combat mage to multiplayer. There I've taught it nature magic so it can heal and summon a little more effectively and I might fight a bit of melee so as to raise strenght. (stats go up really slow. )

You can play with mods though and be a god.. I've checked out a lot of the game, its cool. The Pyramids of Grescal do exist btw and so does the chicken level. You can get best stuff in the game there.. I can help you if you want to cheat a bit (its legal since DS allows for mods), PM if you would like to get some cool stuff to help you along the way. There is a drawback though.. You can import singleplayer into multiplayer and get the cool stuff, but you can't do it vice versa although youc an play singleplayer game in multiplayer. The only real bad thing is you'll have to start from the towns or vendors again.

Are the Pyramids part of the official multiplayer game or is that an independent mod?

Also, are there any single palyer mods. I wont have a highspeed connection for another month or so - thus multiplayer is out for me for a while.

There are a few. Check out www.dsnetguide.com

And btw.. dialup multiplayer is not bad.. I've played with a friend but keep it down to 2-3 players max unlike 8 at broadband.

are you saying that i can dupe the items for the chicken level? How do i go about doing that? I am very interested in getting them game, but am currently playing diablo 2.

I haven't tried the dupe as yet but I've seen it done. I've been playing with one charecter pretty much so no duping needed as yet.

Also the stuff there is pretty good so I doubt duping will be needed at all when a few others join me..
