Unhappy May High end gaming system motherboard vidcard problem

I bought the abit bd7II raid motherboard and the msi G4Ti4600 vid card. when i set the bios to agp and kept everything else fail safe except for the chip to run at p4 2.26 wich is what i bought. Anyway when system boots the screen is fine. when i go to install operating system there are dots and lines and when its done i installed the new driver from MSI website or even the old one that comes in the box. Windows reloads and the monitor is black, but windows is running underneath. I tried everything from flashing the bios to different vid drivers to installing certin drivers in different orders to disabling everything. THe same problem occurs. Is this cuz the card is not compatible with the motherboard or is the card bad???
