A thought..
why is everyone so excited about a 2.26 or a 2.53GHz Pentium4? They run on a higher front side bus right? That means they have a lower multiplier.. which is less overclockable. Take a typical SiS 645DX or SiS648 motherboard, and clock up the FSB to 600MHz. On a 2.53GHz P4, a FSB of 600MHz translates to 2.85GHz, while on a 2.2GHz chip, that would mean 3.3GHz. I'm sure the B0 stepping 2.2's can't get there but it could be an entirely different story with all of the C1's coming out. But do you see what I'm saying? Why is everyone trying to get after the CPU's with the lower bus multiplier? I mean, a 2.0A at 150MHz is faster than a 2.53 at 150MHz.. im sure you all understand that, so why is everyone going for the 133MHz CPUs?
