    Power Supplies and Macs

Will any atx power supply work with a Macintosh motherboard?? I can't find this information anywhere, and my old 200W dell ps (from a pII 266) doesn't work with it (proprietary perhaps?).

I ask this because my sister just bought a desktop g3 300mhz for $100 and wanted to add a 2nd hd she had and a CDRW to it so I transplanted it into my Dell mid-tower case (yes, modifications with steel cutters, pliers and a hammer were necessary ) I thought I'd be able to use the Dell ps, but it didn't work out. I would just yank the ps out of other computers I have lying around to see if it works, but I'm lazy, and I thought I'd ask here first. The original Mac ps is not powerful enough to support upgrades and is too big to fit in the tower case. I've looked around for Mac ps designed for towers, but they're all ridiculously expensive ($50+shipping for a 200W) if I can find them at all.

The connection on the Mac board is ATX, or at least looks like it, and fits an ATX connector. Anyone have any idea? or at the least a website where I can find info about it?

http://xlr8yourmac.com/ also check the forums for people who have successfully modified power supplies to use with the newer GigE and QuickSilver motherboards (which require the 28v "trickle").
