    No-cd patches are a god send. They protect discs from undue wear and in some circumstances will mean your game won't judder as it would do when accessing the CD.

    Just be sure to make a copy of the original exe file for when you want to update the game. I know NWN won't let you update a patched exe as do a lot of other games.
