I'm not really sure about any type of software that can convert a pdf to a ppt, but here's an alternative. Please follow the steps below.
1) Load the pdf and the preferred page.
2) Press 'Ctrl-L' for a full screen view.
3) Now press the 'Print screen/Sysrq' button, usually located on the upper right of your keyboard, to copy the page.
4) Press escape and open a new powerpoint document.
5) Load up the slide you want the page to be in and press 'Ctrl-V' to paste the image to your slide.
6) Insert new slides for the rest of the pdf pages you want copied and you should be good to go.
Good luck.

Adobe Illustrrator can do it! You can edit the text, the save the result as an image.
The full version of Adobe Acrobat will do it too, and you could then do a screen capture of the result. As for any freebies that might do it, I can't think of any.
Good luck with your speech!

Thats why you plan early my son.
Why dont you just copy and paste the text. And for images
press the print screen button on your keyboard and like open it up with
paint brush and in paint brush take what picture you want and paste it in powerpoint.
or i dont know if you can ,but right click on images and see if it allows you to copy it so you can paste it in powerpoint.
I gotta play with powerpoint i been seeing alot of people have been working on it too much.
