it depends on whether you wish to stay in the computing industry after you graduate. i am not sure about computing but for my degree, it is accredited by the institute of materials, mining and minerals, so becoming a chartered engineer is that bit easier than doing a non-accredited degree, i don't need to do the accreditation exam
for computing degrees, it's the british computing society (BCS) that is responsible for accrediting computing engineers in the uk. check whether the course follows a syllabus that will prepare you well for the BCS accreditation exam. good luck.

Talk to an advisor at your college, they're there to help you. Also, maybe talk to other students

all i know is that ComputerScience sucks ALOT if you dont thoroughly enjoy programming.. wasted my whole freshman year with java.. i was looking at your earlier post(the one where you needed help with a that c\short C++ snippet).... that looks like very basic 1st year programming to me... if youre having trouble with simple input/output code, just know that hashing, trees, etc that come in 2nd and 3rd year are ALOT harder

Dom't know about the UK but here computer science = proramming. I also hated to program but loved networking and hardware - my MIS (management of Info. Sys.) degree is very good.. You get the best of the tech world without all of th programming. Plus all the good jobs require a Management degree anyways.
So someday, there will be the programmers, and the managers. Hint... You need a business degree to ever have a chance at management. MIS is the best route into the tech world. But do yourself a favor and learn your stuff.
