Anyone had any noise problems from their Chieftec cases?
I've done some tests and it seems like with all my fans and computer parts in my chieftec case that the case it's actually vibrating and/or echoing all the air flow within the case...it's kind of loud and very annoying...sounds like a washing machine/drier. Anyone else had any problems like this? And if not anyone know any way to fix this?? thanks!

Re: Anyone had any noise problems from their Chieftec cases?
i cut out those stamped fan grills in the back and in the bottom front of my antec. it really helped with fan noise a lot (and my temperatures went down a couple of degrees too. )
also check to make sure those PITA (pain in the *ss ) IDE cables are stuffed out of the way. if they are blocking the air flow it might cause turbulence, increased noise, etc.

what did you use to cut them out?? Also there is some other noise...it's kind of like the noise if you turn on the TV early and the morning and you get all the colored bars with a really weird noise...well a very bit fainter version of that comes from the case...it's very odd...
anyways...it's really damn annoying haha!

I love my Cheiftec case. Now I have three.
Can it be your hd making those "tv" like noises? Try replacing all the fans that came with your case with some quality Enermax, Panaflo etc. fans.
-
it's not my HD, i already tried booting up with the power not in the HD so i know it's not that... I replaced all the fans already with 1 panaflo and 3 sunon fans. It still does the tv noise even with all the fans (including the smart fan 2) turned off... I'm thinking it may be my power supply, but i switched that out too and it still made the noise.

another thing i can liken the noise to is that when you turn on a TV you can hear it kind of no matter how much you turn up the volume of your speakers if you try to listen to the TV noise you can hear it...it's kind of like that on my PC now...not the same noise of course, but like it...and it sounds like a quiter washing machine!!!

Can it be your monitor? If all else fails, take apart your pc and slowly put it back together. Arrange the wiring so they are secure and out of the way.
-
it's not the monitor, ive already tried unplugging it and stuff hehe... Another thing that might be of help:
I tried wrapping up the power cords in there with electrical tape on friday... later on that day i guess i could start hearing the noise...I removed all of the electrical tape yet it still makes the noise.... I don't know if it had any effect on the noise or not. Perhaps it's always made the noise and now i'm just becoming extremely sensitive towards it? Maybe i'll take apart the computer tomorrow...

Maybe try putting rubber grommets between the fans and metal...they can vibrate against the metal of the case.
