Uhh, computer was working fine when I left, won't even power up now...=(
My friend came over yesterday to pick me up so I shut down my computer. Came home around 7am, woke up and proceeded to turn on my computer. No response. ... Called up my mom, she said she hasn't touched it. Asked my little brother, he said he didn't touch it either. If it hasn't been touched in the past uhh...24 hours, and won't even boot up now, what could be wrong? I'm gonna see if I can go and buy a psu tester in a bit, but crap, I'm going out for the whole day again I think. Well, any ideas anyone? Help =\
On the plus side, one of my 4 packages just came in, 1600+/lite-on 48/24/48, floppy, and 40 gig barracuda

Oh, oops, forgot to say that I already did that. I hooked up my old ibm p166 (that i'm using right now) and it booted up just fine, so it's not an surge protector problem.

It sounds like a dead psu. The same exact thing happened to my bro's system (XP1700, K7S5A, 256MB PC2100, similar to mine). One time he went to turn it on and nothing happened. It turned out to be a dead psu cuz I put in the psu from my comp and it booted fine.
If you don't want to spend the money on a psu tester just try putting a different psu in like I did. It'll take a bit more time but it should save you a few bucks.

Next up: Power supply
Pull it out and see if you can use it to power up another system.

No power at all.

That sounds more like it, I don't have a spare psu lying around or anything so just gotta wait till I can go buy one...

Nah, it's not my antec psu, I get that this weekend. It's a psu that came with my enlight case, enlight brand actually.

Definitely sounds like the PSU. I HOPE that is the only thing gone on you. Last year, the same thing happened to me, but I lost PSU, HD, CD, video, and sound. I was lucky not to lose the mobo or cpu. Everything was plugged into a surge protector, EXCEPT my cable. Surge came through the cable, through the cable modem (no damage) through the enet card (no damage) and wreaked havoc with the rest of my system. Good luck and let's hope it's only your psu. And buy a surge protector that protects your cable/phone/DSL connection if you don't already have one.
Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

I thought surge protectors protecing your modem causes line noise with your modem
