Should I return this laptop???
I have a 2 day old Toshiba laptop with one pixel on the screen that is always light blue or white. This is the last they had of this model so I won't be able to get the same computer. Do all laptops get these in time? Is this a valid reason to return? If I have one sould I expect more to follow soon? I have no laptop experience, so any input would help. If we got the current model Toshiba with the same features it would be $50 more, plus I don't like the case and it doesn't have a floppy drive. (which my wife wants) How concerned should I be about this?
Thanx,
Russ

Crash Test Dummy
Dead or stuck pixels are actually pretty common on LCD screens. It's not something that happens over time, but is a manufacturing flaw. Most manufacturers have a set number of pixels that are allowed to be bad before the entire screen is considered to be a reject. (If a screen with one bad pixel was considered bad, the price of LCD's would shoot up because reject rates would skyrocket.)
If that pixel bothers you, return the laptop to the store you bought it from. If you wait past the store's return period, Toshiba might not take it back because like I mentioned above -- it might not "officially" be bad if you only have a few stuck pixels.
