    Fan Speeds

Got two case fans which are too loud if wired as 12V default- have tried wiring them to the 5V lines instead- nearly works but a bit too slow.
Was wondering if you can wire them in series on the 12 volt line thus getting 6 Volts on each.

This is on a new system with 8RDA+ MB xp2100 @2320Mhz and 9700 Pro.
With the case fans on 5V and running sandra burn in to steady state,I get temps of:- CPU 43.C and MB temp of 37.C. I'm not too worried about the CPU temp but thought the MB temp was high.

Tried the above on my old comp (the one below) which happens to have lots of connectors around. To my suprise it seems to work wiring them in series.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work.
