What do you guys think of this? (New Sony)

There's the link, it's odd. Kind of reminds me of my old "luggable" which weighed about 5,000 lbs I don't really see a use for it. I guess it's competition for the iMac, but a little late. It is pretty neat, Best Buy has it on display. The keyboard flips up, the screen dims and turns into a $1600 clock. Post your comments.

For that amount of money you could build a machine that would blow that one out of the water...

Just to clarify, I'm not a fan.. I don't think i would pay $800 for it, i'm just checking to see what everyone thinks. Can you really think of a practical use for that? I don't understand why you wouldn't just buy a laptop for that amount of money.

Like the design, though the price is way to high.

the only real purpose i can see to one of those is for people with really cramped living quarters, like college dorm students, or anyone living in japan... anything were space is at a premium... But if that's the case, i'd grab a shuttle box, and a 17" lcd, and then use just about the same space, and kick the crap out of the sony for looks and performance...

I think it would garner some attention sitting in a family/living room, mainly for display. I think it'd be cool to own but I wouldn't have a real need for it.

I wouldn't call it piece of crap.
    That's mean.

On the other hand, it's not worth it though.

There should've been more vote options.

I agree, I didn't vote. I am looking for a computer to have in the living room mostly so I can surf and spend time with my g/f on the couch. So that would work and look nice, however it's too much.
