    Lighting

My rig's (below) almost done, but I know I want to use some lighting effects. My PSU has blue light emanating from it, but it's not installed yet, so I don't know exactly how this will look. I think I'll most likely do the metku mod to my vid card and maybe my mobo too. What color of cold cathode should I get to best show it all off? Or should I get a black light? And will some colors clash or will some types/colors of lights negate others?

I also want to get round cables. If I get red ones will they show up under the blue light from the PSU? Should I go with UV sensitive ones? Can you tell I haven't got a clue? lol

The only thing I can advise you on is to get an 8" or 4" CC; I've a 12" and it throws a tad to much lite. I'm thinking of wrapping something around each end to cut it down to 8". The blue IDE cables show up well under my blue CC; also get round cables that are just the right length and number of connectors -- much easier to make things look tidy that way. You'll have to shop around a bit to find the lengths and connectors you'll need. See my sig for an idea of how blue CC looks -- not the best pic, sorry.

I've got 2 dual ccfl's in my lanboy. One is blue, one is UV. The gellpens show up the same under either light... except that since the blue is way brighter the gellpens get more light - and are brighter. either way if fine... but uv sensitive cabling/sleeving only 'works' under uv light.
As for the cc's being too bright, I've got a rheobus in the mail to solve that.

    svc.com..
    look at flexowrap sleeving.
the sizes are kinda weird because they stretch out, but remember that the connector has to pass through the wrap unless you want to rewire the connector. the colors glow really well though

Is this all that hard to do? I read an article in MaxPC where they cautioned against rewiring since if you screw it up you're whole sys gets screwed; but it seems pretty straightforward to me. Not sure I want the entire insides to be glowing, lol, but I'll look into those flexowraps. Thanks for the tip!

rewiring is only as dangerous as the ability of the person doing it.
If you match up the wires correctly, nothing will short out. I'm assuming really bad things can happen if you mismatch wires, but I've avoided any catastrophes so far.
