    Question server?????????

I'm kinda new at this web hosting thing. I need to build a server that will host Medal of Honor. I have a budget of $1000. Is it possible to build a server for that price? If so what parts should I get for it?

If you're just going to host a dedicated game server, it's all about processor and ram. Here's what I'd go with (I chose micro-atx since you don't need this thing to take up much space, but if you want expandability later on I'd rethink it):

INWIN MICRO ATX MINI TOWER CASE (Gray), MODEL IW-L545P.180GUF2 - OEM
    $37
Intel Motherboard for Pentium 4 Processors Model# D845GERG2
    $108
Intel Pentium 4 / 3.06GHz 512k 478 Pin Processor HT Technology 533 MHz FSB Retail
    $569
    2 X KINGSTON KVR333X64C25/512 512MB 32x64 PC2700 DDR RAM
    $127
SONY 1.44MB 3.5 INCH INTERNAL FDD DRIVE
    $8
WD WESTERN DIGITAL EIDE HARD DRIVE 40GB 7200RPM MODEL # WD400BB -CAVIAR OEM
    $72
Lite On 52x Cd Rom - Model LTN-526 -RETAIL
    $24

    TOTAL: $945 + S/H

If you're going to do something more than gaming I'd go with a standard atx solution since it can hold more than a gig of ram, but for dedicated gaming server this would kick ***.

If that includes the PSU don't complain if you have stability problems.

I have a friend using that case and psu with no problems whatsoever. Also, with everything mostly integrated the system should draw much less power than normal systems.

if u dont need monitor keyboard mouse os and all your wanting is the parts to build a server. you can do MUCH better than these guys for 1k (not trying to be rude). If all your going to be doing is running ONE single game server this is over kill. Running a single game server like u said you could get by with a p1.6ghz and 512mb of ram. but if your going to do more. this is what i would do.
