TEAM AWESOME!
z560 Sub Placement... in a DORM ROOM!?!?!
I have risen from the dead!!! I haven't posted in awhile... and now I need some help! Where should I put this sub? I disconnected everything and the speakers and the sub are sittin' pretty on my bed. I need to know where to put the sub so it sounds better. I have a few ideas, and a few questions. Imagine that my room looks somewhat like a rectangle. I'm planning on sticking the sub in a corner. Should I...
1) Stick the sub in the corner at a 45 degree angle?
If so...
A) Should the port be facing the corner, or should the driver... or should the port be facing the room or should the driver be facing the room?
I'm gonna draw a picture and put it on my website so u can have some visuals... but I just want to know where exactly the sub should go and how it should be situated so it sounds better. IM me: DJBeanPole and you could talk me through it and I could set the sub up as you talk to me. Thanks for you help, pics coming...

Zoom-Zoom!
Just put it with the heatsink facing parallel to the wall about a foot away. If you put it too close, it will be too boomy. Try experimenting with the placement yourself. Different rooms have different acoustic properties.
Which ever way you put it, you will be evicted...hehe

Haha! Ok, well first I'm gonna vacuum my room out and move my bed around and get ready to give my room a face lift... *cleaning*

It probably won't be an issue but regardless of where you place it remember to have the heatsink a little ways away from the wall so it doesn't create a heat problem. Last thing a college student needs is to have his speakers blow and cost him more money.

How did everything work out with that sub? Did you get it replaced?
Windows 9x: 32 bit extensions and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprocessor, written by a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition.

Not Wurm
If you can
the PIMPIST place to put a sub in your dorm room...is under your bed.
Especially a powerful sub like the one on the 560's
EDIT:
As a side note, putting it under your bed and away from your walls helps flatten the sub out.
which translates into less 'five ohs' knockin on your door with noise complaints
