    Low 3dmark2001se score

I score around 12500 on my xp1800 with ti4600 vid card. But, I only score just over 10000 with the system listed below. Any ideas?

Umm...that seems a bit low. Did you format your HD and fresh install Windows?

Its all on brand new equipment and yes I know its low for the machine. I should be getting around 15000. I don't feel I should tweak the computer any different than the other one is. That doesn't resolve the problem, i'm not just trying to tweak a few more points i'm trying to figure out why its almost 5000 less than it should be. In other benchmarks like pcmark it easily outperforms the other computer, same with 3dmark2003 it scores around 5000 compared to 1700 of my xp1800 ti4600 combo. I just don't understand why it would score so low in 2001se.

yah sounds like motherboard drivers need to be installed, agp and chipset. also, check to make sure your not running 3dmark with FSAA or AA on.

Thats what i was kinda wondering because the ati menu is different than the nvidia. Its set on software preference so would that make it run it? And if so how do you go about disabling it on an ati?

Just right-click your mouse and press "Properties". Then go to Settings-->Advanced. Now You can simply set the video performace to wutever you want at "OpenGL" and "Direct3D" tab.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah, i've done that but It doesn't actually say no aa or af it greys it and stays on 2x. Didn't know if that meant its off or not. I even moved the slider over to performance.

Just move the slider to "Optimal Performance" in main setting and "High Performance" in Texture Preference and Mipmap Detail Level. Then I think you're set.

Do a 3DMark2001 run and see how it goes.

When you check the Application Preference box, it grays out the slider meaning that it is not enabled. Other than chipset drivers, I do not know what to tell you.

Ok that got it, I scored 15542. I must not have been disabling the settings completely. Thats a little more what I expected for a score. Now i'll have to try 2003 again with the right settings.

    Sounds great to me.
