Any good multimedia software out there?

Okay, I recently installed Ati's Mutimedia Center software, and I luv it! The only thing that bugs me is that I can't watch DVD movies despite the fact that I have Direct X 9 installed and a DVD Rom drive.

The configuration utility it came with ran a series of tests to determine if my system met the minimum requirements for the software. I pass everything except the part where it says "Direct X installed improperly, Please reinstall Direct X" I've installed Direct X 8.1 and 9.0 numerous times, and yet it's not detecting it!


Even dxdiag says I have Direct X installed properly...

So...any help with this or other such software will be appreciated.

If you are running Win XP, and have upgraded Windows Media Player to 9.0, it will play DVD's as well... in addition to burning CD's (though it's painfully slow so not recommended!).

You failed to mention WMP9 still needs a DVD decoder to work. Microsoft should just release the codec for it, instead of making it part of some add-on that cost money.

It's the viewable meaurement, not the actualy monitor. The monitor is like 15"
