Question Tt shim on a TBred

Will a Thermaltake copper shim fit on a TBred w/o frying it?? I have the older version, not the one shown in the link. It fits fine on my 2100+ Tbred, but it's real close to some of the bridges.
Using stock HS for now, putting on my SK7 soon.

I've got an ax-7 on my xp2000+ cpu. The thing has survived me putting on the heatsink for the first time ever, 4 roadtrips(college and back, 3 hours ride), and me also fighting to get the heatsink off for about an hour because the clips were so tight. By the last 15 min of taking the heatsink off i wasn't careful at all and didn't care at all if i cracked my chip I jut wanted to get it off no matter what it took. The processor didn't crack so ditch the shim. My 2 cents.

Tbred cores are HARD to crack. I mean, you have to REALLY not know what the heck you're doing to crack it. Bend the HS clip a few times first to make it a little less stiff, then you can press it down with your thumb, pretty easy.

    Thumbs up

IIRC the SK-7, as well as most other all-copper HS', are over AMD's recommended HS weight which was the other reason for using a shim. But if you guys say it'll be fine I'll leave the shim off then. Thanks.

unless you constantly drag your PC to lans and throw it around a bunch, it won't break, unless you're REALLY clumsy. I mean more clumsy than goofy...
