Boca Research Modem?
Okay...I had Windows 95 on my mom's old Compaq AT model computer. I updated her os to 98 SE and now it won't connect to the internet. When i go to My computer/properties/Device Manager...i see under "Other Devices", a question mark next to Boca Research 56,0000 K56 Modem. I take it that this is the modem that is in the computer, but the drivers are not yet installed? Well...since i assumed this was the case, i unsuccessfully went to Driverguide.com and downloaded a couple different drivers for it, but nothing seems to be working Any Ideas on this? I ran the install program for the drivers or whatever it had, but nothing really installed the correct drivers for it, it seems. I also tried adding a modem and then selecting "Have disk" and pointed it to my downloaded driver file on my floppy to no avail.

if its the original modem w/that pc then post the compaq model # of that PC. also, you might try the compaq site to see if they have any drivers for that model.
the #'s that colossus is referring to is the model # on on the card or the nomenclature on the chips(note which #'s are on the biggest chips)
as a last effort, use the FCC # to chase it down to a specific modem chipset, then get any drivers for that chipset.
